Giving Rocks Foundation was founded by Syd Martin, now 20-years-old. After being diagnosed at 10 years old with the little-known but usually fatal disease LCH, Syd decided to help raise funding for research into LCH by creating and selling rock necklaces using the stones she found on the shores of Lake Michigan. The "Syd Rocks" project has now evolved into the Giving Rocks Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and funding cutting-edge research for the treatment and cure of LCH and other pediatric cancers.
