The Fred Outa Foundation is devoted to improving the lives of orphans in wartorn and poverty stricken countries.
Specifically, the foundation works with orphan children who live in Kibera Slum in Nairobi, Kenya. The foundation raises money to help provide basic food, medicine and school supplies for the students of Spurgeons Academy and St. Esther’s Girls High School, located in Kibera Slum, Nairobi.
To achieve our mission, we utilize fundraising events and direct donations.
For the past 10 years we have hosted a Concert for Africa fundraiser in which Jr. High and High School student bands perform. We also participate in community events and partner with local businesses to raise visibility of the needs of our students and to generate financial support. For example, in 2013 a local dance studio hosted a very large dance performance and all proceeds were donated to the foundation.
