About Highland Park Public Library

We are looking to utilize volunteers in a variety of ways to assist with our daily operations as well as event and seasonal opportunities that provide, promote and engage the community with the resources available at the library.

Current Opportunities at Highland Park Public Library

Could your imagination light up the streets of Highland Park?

The Highland Park Public Library is looking for volunteers who would like to walk in the Fourth of July parade this year.
In lieu of a float we will be driving the library van and we are calling on you to make mini-floats.
Here are some examples…
Cinderella
Perhaps a Magic School Bus theme
Ideally, your mini float will embody you or your child’s favorite literary character or story.
Don’t have young ones or a wagon??? No problem. You can still join us. Participants will receive a t-shirt to promote our Library Scouts program.
If you are interested in joining the library in walking in the Fourth of July Parade this year please sign up here. Or contact Ryan Dreier at rdreier@hplibrary.org or (847) 432-0216.
The Highland Park Fourth of July Parade will be on Monday, July 4th. Participants are to be in their pre-staging area in the morning (more details to come).
P.S. You don’t have to be a Highland Park Resident to build a wagon float and support the Highland Park Public Library.
