"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."

- Dr. Seuss

On Sunday, July 22 from 10am – 2pm, Go Green Winnetka is hosting its inaugural Yards That Work tour, a bike and carpooling tour of six yards in Winnetka that incorporate sustainability in different ways – rain gardens, shade gardens, stormwater detention, bioswales, permeable pavers, vegetable gardens and fruit trees, composting, no pesticides, etc.

We are looking for two types of volunteers for this event:

  1. in the week or so before the event, we might need help making signs to identify sustainable/native plants and features in each yard.
  2. on the day of the event, we would like one volunteer in each yard to act as a Go Green Winnetka representative to assist the yard host, help guests/tour participants, etc.

Thank you for your interest!

Opportunities Available: Sunday Afternoons, Mornings

About Go Green Winnetka:

Go Green Winnetka works to raise awareness regarding sustainability and inspire schools, governmental units, organizations, businesses, and individuals to take action targeting climate change, waste, and sustainable raw materials.
