The Volunteer Center Teaches Screen Break 2017 Volunteers How to Make and Use “Plarn”

At our Screen Break workshop in March, the Volunteer Center helped an enthusiastic group of volunteers make "Plarn" -- a great way to recycle plastic bags to make "yarn" that can be woven into useful products, like mats that homeless individuals living on the street can use as a cold and vapor barrier.

Volunteer Center Hosts Screen Break Week Activity in support of Orphans of the Storm

The Volunteer Center sponsored a Screen Break Week event in support of our nonprofit partners Alliance for Early Childhood and Orphans of the Storm on Thursday, March 10th at Skokie School in Winnetka. It was a great way for the kids to take a break from their screens and experience the fun of volunteering!
