About the Winnetka Youth Organization

Since its founding in 1969, the Winnetka Youth Organization (WYO) has been fostering individual development in adolescents by providing adult-to-youth mentoring, along with opportunities for leadership, citizenship, and education within a positive, encouraging environment. The WYO empowers adolescents to become more active community members and leaders, while also giving them opportunities to develop confidence in their own talents and skills. The WYO is headquartered in the Community House in Winnetka, where it has a teen drop-in center that is open to local-area teens on Monday-Thursday (3pm-7pm), Fridays (3pm-9pm), and Saturdays (varies due to social service projects). The WYO also has an active presence at the Carleton W. Washburne School.
